The Database of Aeolian Sedimentary Architecture (DASA) records the architecture and spatio-temporal evolution a broad range modern recently active aeolian systems, their preserved deposits in ancient successions. DASA currently stores data on >14,000 geologic geomorphic entities (including bounding surfaces transition relationships) extracted from >60 case-study examples documented published literature. variety associated non-aeolian multiple scales, including attributes that characterize type, geometry, spatial relations, hierarchical temporal significance, textural petrophysical properties; metadata are also stored. output describes (1) stratigraphic relationships between fluvial, lacustrine paralic depositional systems; (2) geometry architectural elements, them; (3) probabilities vertical lateral one type deposit or landform to another; (4) presence nature at different nested, relationships; (5) lithofacies types, proportions distributions, (6) grain-scale parameters. is applied quantitatively compare sedimentary systems.
